        and drawers!  Bring your treasures to the Institute's final Antique Appraisal Night on Tuesday,
        April 12th.  Arthur Schwerdt, certified appraiser and owner of August Farmhouse Antiques, will
        be available to go through items and explain their value. In March's class, a participant brought
        an item purchased for $5 at a yard sale, which ended up having a value of almost $4,000!  Light
       refreshments will be available throughout the evening.  For more information, or to reserve your

Overall Rate Per Court Paid Prior to Play
$24.00 per 90 minutes; $16.00 per 60 minutes; 1/2 price after 12:30pm

Season Permit: Adult: $220 - non transferable

Guest Fee: $6 per person four doubles; $12 per person for singles

Rates Effective: May 8 - September 18, 2011

Hours of Operation: Courts are open daily from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm. Memorial Day through Labor Day.  Off season hours TBA.

Reserved Courts: Same day or next day walk in reservations start at 7:30 am.  Reservations will be held for 5 minutes past scheduled time.

Miscellaneous Rules:

1. Rain checks will only be given when the tennis courts are deemed unplayable by the tennis staff.
2. No rain checks given after two-thirds of time is played.
3. Players who do not show up after courts are rolled will not receive a rain check.
4. Reserved courts will be held for only five minutes past the scheduled court time.
5. Shirts and Tennis shoes must be worn at all times.

2011 Tennis Procedure

1. Taxpayers must submit proof of ownership (e.g. tax bill and photo I.D.) to staff to establish their
    right to priority:

-when purchasing a permit, or
-if they do not purchase a permit, when they make an advanced reservation.

2. Staff will make a photo on site, and attach it to the permit, or a sheet identifying the taxpayer.

3. Staff will create and maintain (2) books, one for permit holders in which Avalon taxpayers will be
    identified by a different color permit than non-taxpayer permit holders, and the other for non-permit
    holders who are Avalon taxpayers.

4. The doors will be opened at 7:00AM.

5. From 7:00AM to 7:15AM, (or, if later when all Avalon taxpayers have been served), taxpayers may
    make advanced reservations in person for the following day.

6. Thereafter, all other in-person reservations for the following day will be taken.

7. After 7:30AM, phone-in reservations by permit holders will be accepted for the same day and next day.

8. All permits must be purchased during the season at 39th Street. Preseason permits may be purchased
    during times to be specified, or by appointment after the Tennis Resolution has been passed by
    Borough Council.

9. On Memorial Day and July 4th weekends (2) staff members will be on the morning shift to handle the
    permit process.
